Why Can’t I Get Pregnant? 3 Shocking Ways You Could be Sabotaging Your Fertility! Part 2

2. You might not be eating enough. Of course you don’t want to eat too much either, but if you are skipping breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you might not be eating enough. Strive for at least 1200 calories a day, with plenty of lean protein. If you are exercising, or if you find yourself famished throughout the day, have a light snack. Keeping your body fueled properly will ensure that you are healthy enough to get pregnant.

3. Are you stressed or extremely tired? If you are stressed, and/or not getting enough sleep, you are putting stress on your body and reproductive system. Stress can interfere with ovulation, and if you are not sleeping properly your body is unable to recover from stress very easily. Stress also leads to poor eating habits and less time to take care of yourself properly.

As women, we tend to put others’ needs before our own and be harder on ourselves than we need to be. Using diet and exercise to try and achieve a model body type, or allowing ourselves to get stressed because of work and family obligations, can lead to poor health even if you don’t feel sick or unhealthy. Your reproductive system is sensitive to all sorts of stress, whether dietary, physical, or emotional. Taking care of yourself now will ensure that you will be happy and healthy once your baby finally arrives!
